Intro to GED-i - Orientation - Introduction



The GED-i Online program offers…

  • Flexibility to study at your own pace 
  • No travel to and from class each day (although an initial on-site orientation, testing, and follow-up meetings with an Adult Education instructor may be required)
  • Support from a teacher as you work through the lessons
  • Lessons that are full of fun and interactive activities
  • Links to web sites that are informative and interesting.

GED-i Online is for adult learners who are GED-ready students and meet the guidelines of the adult education program with which they are working.

Now that you have read about some people who successfully used GED-i, have obtained some basic knowledge of what GED-i has to offer, and have made sure that your computer is ready to go by doing a browser check, we can move forward into the virtual tour.

It is extremely important that you review all THREE areas of the virtual tour. Each section contains relevant information that will help you decide if online learning is for you. To continue, select a section below and click on the title.

Being a Successful Online Student: This section contains information about OASIS, an online readiness survey, and the skills needed to be successful with GED-i Online.

Requirements for GED-i: This section contains information about how to connect with a local GED provider, what Internet and computer skills are needed, and the steps for enrollment.

The Student Center:  This section provides a view of the Student Center and highlights each of the sections located there.  Sample lesson are included.
