Intro to GED-i - Orientation - Requirements for GED-i |

STEPS FOR ENROLLMENT
Contact a local adult education provider.
- Schedule a meeting with your local adult education provider (as determined by the individual program)
- Complete an assessment to determine your current functioning grade level. The purpose of this assessment is to see if you are at the appropriate academic level to be a successful online learner.
Enroll in GED-i Online
- Register. Depending on the adult education program and the individual student needs, you could register for one to all subjects under the GED-i Online Program.
Assessing Technical Skills and Computer Skills
- You must have the following skills to be eligible for GED-i Online:
- A reliable computer and Internet access
- Basic knowledge of computers. NOTE:Word processing skills (to type essays and communicate with your instructor and classmates).
- An active email account that is not shared with anyone else.
- Internet Explorer 5.0 or higher and certain technology requirements. (At the beginning of the virtual tour, you completed a Browser check to test the compatibility of your computer with GED-i Online.)
- A computer at home or available routinely at a place where you feel comfortable.

Remember
Once you have taken the assessment and it is scored, you will be notified if enrollment into the GED-i Online Program is an option for you.
Please note:
Not all students are online ready nor are all students at the recommended grade level needed to learn the material as presented in the GED-i Online program. However, there are many other options besides GED IL Online available to students who need GED preparation. Your local adult education program will explain these other options to you at the time of your initial assessment.
