Student Center: Overview

This section of the virtual tour will provide you with a view of the Student Center and highlight each of the sections located there.  Sample lessons are included.

The Student Center contains four different sections: Module, Portfolio, Help Desk and Cyber Cafe. Each section has a specific purpose.

The Module section is where you will complete the actual lessons in preparation for the GED exam.  There are six modules: Math, Language Arts-Writing, Language Arts-Reading, Social Studies, Science, and Test Taking.

As you work through the assignments, you will compile a personal Portfolio of the work that you have done, with appropriate feedback from your instructor included.

If you have a problem, you can go to the Help Desk and read the student manual, locate additional resources, or take online readiness surveys.

The Cyber Café is where you find the tools needed to communicate with your instructor and classmates, as well as locate a calendar to help you remain organized.

Did you complete all THREE areas of the virtual tour?

If you have completed all three sections, then you should contact your local adult education program to find out whether they offer the GED-i, or, if you are working with your local adult education program, contact your online instructor to let him or her know that you have finished the online orientation.
